Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, the Famous Sports Arena

The famous National Sports Centre at Crystal Palace in south London, England is a large sports centre and athletics track. It was opened in the year of 1964 in Crystal Palace Park, very close to the location of the previous Crystal Palace, in the previous park and furthermore usurping part of the previous impressive prix circuit.

This Sport Centre was one of the five National Sports Centres, run representing Sport England, but blame has been moved to the London Development Agency and is organized by Greenwich Leisure Limited. It is a Grade II recorded building as a centre sports.

The athletics stadium in this centre has a capability of 15,500, which can be expanded up to 24,000 with provisional seating. It has hosted worldwide athletics meetings and is the dwelling of a yearly happening on the athletics Grand Prix circuit. The convoluted furthermore hosts a 50 m bathing pool.

However both the athletics stadium and the aquatics centre sports will be superseded as London's major amenities for their sports by the Olympic Stadium and the Aquatics Centre which will be assembled in Stratford in east London for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
